The mission of The Educational Research Group is to provide innovative research, communication strategies, logistical marketing solutions, and program development to advance human health and knowledge. Our services are geared to federal, state, and local agencies, commercial companies, educational institutions, and private research organizations.
 

The Educational Research Group was founded in 2005, operating from two locations: Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC. We have a 100% commitment, dedication, and desire to assist in the overall advancement of human health and knowledge. Our greatest strength is the quality of the staff and consultants. Together, our team represents are supported by a multicultural interdisciplinary public health team of professionals. Our researchers, writers, graphic artist, and consultants hold Doctorates, Master’s, and or Bachelor’s degrees in public health, psychology, counseling, media, and education. Our services consist of innovative research, program development, logistical marketing solution, and communication strategies. 

Meet The Founder

Charles Pinckney, Ph.D.

Dr. Charles Pinckney is a highly acclaimed lecturer, speaker, consultant, trainer, educator, and author.  He conducts several workshops every year, presenting topics to include mental health, substance abuse, hip-hop culture, and effective communication strategies. He also facilitates and moderates focus groups for teenagers and adults. Dr. Pinckney is known for his creative, enthusiastic, and captivating messages.  He encourages and demonstrates to participants how to reach, teach, and inspire students. Dr. Pinckney’s resume reads like a mini novel. He has served as a lecturing professor at UNCC, Chair of the Psychology Department at Livingstone College; Co-Founder and President of the Educational Research Group; NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative; NCAA FARA Fellow; President of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Faculty; and former member of the NCAA Division II Legislative Committee.

Dr. Pinckney’s CV reads like a mini novel. Lecturing Professor; Department Chair; Faculty Mentor Affiliate Professor; NCAA Faculty Athletic Representative; NCAA FARA Fellow; Past President of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Faculty; and former member of the NCAA Division II Legislative Committee. Dr. Pinckney has worked extensively to improve the academic success rates of African American student-athletes and to increase mental health awareness. This work led to Dr. Pinckney’s first book, entitled, FROM SLAVE SHIPS TO SCHOLARSHIPS “The Plight of the Black Athlete”. His second book was published by Cognella Publishing as a university textbook. The book is entitled “The Globalization of Hip-Hop Culture “. Dr. Pinckney is the founder of The Educational Research Group.
